I just came back from Midvalley GSC to catch a midnight movie with my fellow church members from GEPC. Initially, we wanted to watch Wild Hogs but the show don't have enough seats to cater for 11 of us. So we have to opt for the movie TORNADO.
Just by way of an introduction of the movie. (Quoted from GSC website)

TORNADO
Berlin is struck by an unusual series of storms and hail stones. In the middle of this unusual phenomenon is a meteorologist named John who has recently returned from studying tornadoes in Oklahoma, in the United States. He returns home to find his ex-girlfriend, a doctor named Eva, going out with his best friend, Bruno, also a meteorologist. Bruno has taken his place as his father's assistant. John has a knack for weather prediction and he learns that a tornado is about to hit Berlin. Together with Eva, he must convince his father to sound the warning for the people of Berlin to stay clear of the path of the oncoming tornado.

Before we went into the hall, we just realized that it's a German movie with English subs. The film starts with some flashy flashback of scenes with tornado hitting a city in an old film fashion (blurry scenes, webcam quality kind of scene if you get what I mean) followed by a scene of hail storm and then a tornado appeared and ONE was killed. The movie was actually in ENGLISH instead of the German language (Wow... They had English voiceovers. How considerate of them....)
However, after some time, I find the movie very boring. In fact, Bernard and Rodd and some other friends fell asleep half way or rather not long after the movie started. The movie looked like were shot from a webcam or a video phone which has very lousy picture quality compared to other box office movies we normally see in cinema. It's very blurry. Nothing noteworthy of the actors' acting, lack of feel. The voiceovers suck and the script is bad. I think it'd be better they leave the audio language untouched and put an English subs instead. Their effort of combining elements of love, relationship and disaster somehow failed and caused the whole plot of the story to be somehow scattered, no climax, no substance.
In a nutshell, I don't recommend this movie. If I were to rate between 1 (worst) to 10 (best), I'd say 2, which comprises of 1 point for the effort they put into the special effects and 1 point with a scene where a girl was running away from the tornado in a bikini swimsuit.... hmmm..... but I have to minus 0.5 because the girl looks awful. So that makes the rating 1.5 out of 10.
I'd prefer the 1995 movie "Twister" to this movie.
