Hybrid just finished a gig on Sunday. Still pending for the pics though. I haven't finish editing the video yet. Will post up once it's done.

I wouldn't say we did perfectly as most of us made mistakes here and there, but considered good for first time. All of us are very nervous and tired because of the waiting. Still, we still have spaces for improvements. We'll definitely do better next time.

Coming up is Junk's turn this Sunday playing instrumental stuff. Hopefully I won't screw up my parts hahaha.

Almost a week plus since I've last posted a blog entry here.
Quite busy lately with 2 gigs coming up, practising, training and etc. But I kinda like it though, at least I didn't waste my time doing nothing.

During the weekends, went to Klang with some friends for Bak Kut Teh, Klang Cendol and some sight seeing, followed by a movie at KLCC (I watched 5 movies in 2 weeks). Then Sunday was a fun day, Melvin and I went to Fusion Haven twice in a day and then went for Junk's band practice for 3 hours. It's tiring but it's fun.

Hybrid will be playing in a gig this coming Sunday afternoon at Kepong GoldHill club. Do come support us. See you there......

一周年纪念。。。

This weekend was kinda busy....

Saturday
Was working from 9am - 6pm. Then rush back for a quick shower before heading off to meet up a from Singapore. Ended up they went for dinner in Ampang. So I went to Pavilion for the movie "Red Clift" instead. Quite a good film. Then met up with my friends and yam char till 4am. Damn tired.

Sunday
Attended a gathering the whole day. Then rush back home to prepare for band practice. The Junk members met at Bentley @ 1U because Choong How want to try the Fender Deluxe Jazz Bass and ended up buying it.... So for the time being, the bass belongs to me because I'm the one paying for him first. Hahaha.....

As for the jamming, most of the songs are in good shape already. However, still need to fine tune some minor details. It's a happy jamming. With Choong How's new bass coming in, the overall tone sounds much better. Too bad he's flying off on Monday to Jakarta for work, so our friend from Ukraine - Melvin will step in as temporary bassist for our practice. Might wanna play T-Square's Explorer hehehe.

I really have to salute the Thais for being able to come up with such brilliant ideas for TV commercials. They are damn creative. (FYI, I'm half THai) hehehe.

The jamming session yesterday with JUNK was GREAT!!! We managed to nail most of the songs that we're going to play for this coming August GIG. AND>>>> We have a new saxophonist on board. Eizaz Azhar joined us as a saxophonist. He likes T-Square stuff also. THat's a good thing!!

WE jammed through our setlist and it feels great to finally complete the lineup and the music sounds much fuller than before. However, we still need to work hard to nail the minor details.

Phew, last week was a hectic week as I have been working EVERYDAY.... yes.. including Saturday and Sunday...

Was on a Disaster Recovery project for one of the company that I'm supporting. Damn tired......

Luckily this week I'll be off for an Oracle training. Planning to take a vacation off somewhere... Still looking for any nice places to go, perhaps Penang. Any ideas?

On Saturday, HYBRID jammed for the first time with the new lineups. We managed to play GLAY's 誘惑, 彼女のModern, You May Dream and Luna Sea's I For You and one of our original - Secret Garden.

It was fun jamming. I bet Akira is the happiest among all of us.. Hehehe.. Prior to jamming, I was sms'ing reminder and countdown messages around. Hahaha... I was unable to sleep well the day before jamming because was anticipating the jam after almost half a year of planning. Finally, we played and I'd say it's very good for a first time jam. Perhaps Akira can testify that. Hehehe...

And on Sunday, JUNK resumed jamming after Choong How came back from Jakarta. We manage to cover most of our jamming list. We also had 2 guests, Kenneth and Gary. Kenneth is another drummer who happens to be in the Jrock Kingdom forum AND a colleague of Brett, Gary is a friend of mine and vocalist for Hybrid. I asked him to help us to videotape our jamming session.

One point that I noticed since Junk started jamming, that is the band members was smiling while jamming. To me, it's a good sign that the band will stick longer because everyone is happy. Kenneth and Gary noticed it too. It's hard to find this kinda feeling in a band but someone I manage to find this feeling in Junk and Hybrid. I also would like to appreciate Xiang Xi's effort to purposely come to KL from hometown just to practice with us and then travel back hometown. I also appreciate Brett for always helping us to book the studio and fetching Xiang Xi to jamming. Also want to thank Choong How for fetching me to jamming also. (Partly because he's my housemate hehe). Thank you Junk for giving me the satisfaction of jamming with you guys although we're not a pro band but we improved a lot.

Just came back RPM cycling class. This is my first time joining the class and I was sweating like crazy in the class. Hard at first then started to learn up. Will do better next time.

In every package of Mamee, there's a small piece of card enclosed.
You're supposed to assemble it to become like a trolley-like thing with the Mamee head waving at you when the thing moves.

At first I ignored it at first, but what the heck... So I just go on to give it a try. Kinda troublesome at first because my finger is too big for a small stuff like these.



So there goes another 3 packets of Mamee in my tummy.

For no apparent reason, I seem to like this snack very much.
Got addicted to this snack again recently.......

So much for my workout ... *sigh* ..

After a few weeks of weight training, I've decided to go back for BodyPump where I used to join. As usual, the instructor was Swee, my favorite BodyPump instructor. I was a bit shocked when she mentioned that the class will her last BodyPump class in Maxis.

For the past few months, I've been joining BodyPump class with Swee as the instructor. She kept me motivated although sometimes I cannot tahan already. I used to carry lighter weights but she encouraged me to take heavier weights and so I did, just a lil more heavier. Hahaha.... My body tone was improved compared to last time. Again, it's sad that she's not teaching BodyPump class in Maxis anymore.

I'll see if I can readjust my schedule so that I can join her class either on Monday or Friday.....

昨天，和永俊一起吃晚餐时，忽然他想起今天是金土的生日。于是便问要不要去马六甲找他。

结果我们就这样去了。。。喝完茶了又回吉隆坡。。。

好无聊，可是很爽。

My six-year-old granddaughter, Caitlynd, and I stopped at a Tim Horton's donut shop for a blueberry muffin. As we were going out the door, a young teenage boy was coming in.

This young man had no hair on the sides of his head and tuft of blue spiked hair on top of it. One of his nostrils was pierced, and attached to the hoop that ran through the hole, was a chain that draped across his face and attached to a ring he was wearing in his ear. He held a skateboard under one arm and a basketball under the other.

Caitlynd, who was walking ahead of me, stopped in her tracks when she saw the teen. I thought he'd scared the dickens out of her and she'd frozen on the spot.

I was wrong.

My GrandAngel backed up against the door and opened it as wide as it would go. Now I was face to face with the young man. I stepped aside and let him pass. His gracious response was a kind, "Thank you very much".

On our way to the car, I commended Caitlynd for her manners in holding open the door for the young man. She didn't seem to be troubled by his appearance but I wanted to make sure. If a grandmotherly talk about freedom of self expression and allowing people their differences was in order, I wanted to be ready.

As it turned out, the person who needed the talk was me.

The only thing Caitlynd noticed about the teen, was the fact that his arms were full. "He woulda' had a hard time to open the door."

I saw the partially shaved head, the tuft of spiked hair, the piercings and the chain. She saw a person carrying something under each arm and heading toward a door.

In the future, I hope to get down on her level and raise my sights.

星期六那一天，我的其中一个乐团参与了一个再PJ, Jaya One的打歌会。这个打歌会是我们的协助鼓手，Terry所联合主办的。

我对这次的打歌会友好坏参半的感触。先讲坏的吧。。。。

当天的音响非常的不好。混音师似乎不知道在做些什么，Hann和我都有同感。在我solo时就推另一位吉他手的音量，drum bass kick的音量忽有忽无等等状况。电吉他手们都听不到自己的声音。这对我来说非常的辛苦，因为我要听到自己在弹什么。再加上某些人在试音时很不近人情的叫混音师从我那一边的monitor关掉我的声音。（不要紧啦。。。反正不是第一次了）

接下来讲些好的东西吧。。。

非常感动看见Jrock Kingdom一个大家庭到场支持和把整个地方弄high起来。这次可以说是第一次看见这样的情景因为从JK1至3都不曾出现过这样的画面。非常佩服Drako'Zen能把场面搞到沸腾，相比之下Mage就要好好向他们学习了。

除此以外，也认识了一些新的朋友。希望下次还有更多的机会参与演出。


Last Saturday, one of my band took part in a gig at PJ, Jaya One. The gig was co-organised by our supporting drummer, Terry.

I have mixed feelings on this gig. Let's talk about the downside of the gig first...

The sound system that day was really crappy. The soundman doesn't seems to know what he's doing, Hann and I share the same opinion. When I'm soloing, he pushed up the other guitarist's volume, the drum kick voice on and off went mixing, adjust the gain fader here and there blar blar blar so on and so forth. Guitarists can't listen to their own sound. This is very hard for me because I want to listen to what I'm playing. Plus that there's this someone who inconsiderately ask the soundman to turn down my volume on the monitor from my side. wtf. (Anyhow, this is not the first time)

Let's talk about some good stuff then.

I'm very happy to see a big family from JROCK Kingdom came to support the bands and made the place heated up. To me this is the first time seeing such phenomena happening which has never occured before in previous JK gigs. Drako'Zen has my utmost respect for being able to cook up the atmostphere. Comparatively speaking, Mage has lots to learn in this aspect.

Other than that, I get to know some new friends. Hope there will be more chances to perform.

相信知道内幕消息的朋友们都知道，主办这一场演出实在不容易。
再加上天时地利和人和，都撞到不能再撞了。
不过，凭着上帝的帮忙，虽然遇到很多问题，我们还是克服了。
从中，我们都学习了很多东西。如何去处理不同的问题，不同的任务，不同的人物等等。。。

《51熱浪島の麽麽游》

住了丁加奴（登嘉楼）二十多年，我从来没去过任何附近的岛。
继301博乐飘飘歌唱比赛后，是我第二次参与大马部落的活动。

这次是我第一次到热浪岛去。感觉还蛮不错的。
认识了一班好玩的博客朋友们，整个trip都很精彩，很充实。
看到了很多鱼，珊瑚等等，好得意。

These few weeks has been busy organising the event. Some aspects of it are smooth sailing, while some not.

I'm deeply saddened by the fact that someone is being irresponsible to the task that has given to her. The other committee members has already done their job and manage to get things done and here comes SHE promising us sky and heaven and in the end didn't give anything but SHIT for us to cover.

I do not want to go deep down to the details and history, but just some of what has happenned. Initially, she said 4 sponsors will be sponsoring cash for our event. But up until now, not even a SINGLE one has been confirmed by her. Then she go on promising Sushi King, Jusco for food and beverages, and again NONE was confirmed. Then come the Media for Star, Malay Mail, NST and etc, and as expected NONE was confirmed. Then she requested a Black and White document from the venue sponsor blar blar blar this and that and we gave her the documents and yet NOTHING has been confirmed by her. She said she wants to look at the venue, and we requested with the management and we went to take a look. Then after a few weeks, she was saying we didn't get her a scaled floorplan. DUH. What you didn't draw it when we were there? So all our past meetings and visits are a waste of time, money and effort.

So in the end, Aaron, Jay, Ichiro and I have to settle some stuff on our own. Everyday we'll sms or call each other to update each other on the progresses. We manage to get Animax, Star, Photopintu, Behringer, ISOCKS and etc. What did she do? NOTHING. Did she called us to update and follow up? NO. We called her and can we get her? NO.

If I were to count what she's contributed, the only thing I can think of is she brought Aaron in. Aaron has been a big help to us. Thank you Aaron.

Well, it's already expected in any committee, there will be someone who will be troublemakers. We will work hard to get things done.

If you're not capable of doing anything, then don't say you can do this and do that. It's so fxxxing irresponsible.

Sorry for the long rant. If you want to know the details, find me lar hahaha. I will give you a grandfather story on it.


Anyhow, a side note : PLEASE GET YOUR JROCK KINGDOM EVENT PASSES!!!!!

So long didn't update my blog due to my busy schedules.
Lots of stuff coming up in one shot...

The Jrock Kingdom IV event is coming soon. Tickets is expected to be out this Friday. The committee members are working hard towards the event. I'm busy calling, sms'ing them to check the updates and progresses..... Hopefully you guys will support this event. It's the first time we're doing in a large scale (targeting 2000 audiences). Help us to blog and spread the word about it..... and most importantly, buy the event pass and come attend the event. We really need your support. I dare not say this is going to be a spectacular event, but we'll do our best to give you the best experience we can give. It will be a stepping stone for more future events that we plan to have.

I'd like to thank those who helped out directly or indirectly, especially my committee members - Jay, Ichiro, Lime, Aaron who has been working hard for this event. And the sponsors - LKW, Animax, Star, Behringer, Traps, Staggs and etc for your kind deeds and support. Also the bands who are practising hard to entertain the audience, those who helped to spread the word, those who supported by buying tickets, those who supported our forums, those who supported us with much encouragements and etc. A big thank you to all of you.

Work wise, I need to install a new Unix server which has some issues but hopefully we'll be able to sort it out.

每做一件事情，都有它的障碍。。。

每当遇到困难，就要告诉自己是一个可以让自己学习的机会。
当然也缺少不了来自各方面的支持和鼓励。

当然，有些不明白的人会一直来要求这个要求那个。以为他们要什么就有什么。没法子，这些人就是这样无知。
希望船到桥头自然直。


No matter what we do, there's always obstacles.
Some manage to overcome it, some chose to run away.
It all depends on how we look at the issue.
Whenever you face obstacles, always tell yourself that this is a golden opportunity to learn.
Of course, you'll need support from all over the place.

Still, there are people who will come to request this and that, thinking that they will get what they want. Too bad, these bunch of people are just being ignorant. I don't blame them.
Hopefully things well get sorted out.

God... help us...

那间店名叫作“Coconut Farm". 蛮不错的。很多人，食物也蛮好吃。
